I lead our design strategy & process from end-to-end as well as mentor junior designers. I champion improvements to UX that have a big impact to end users, and as a result, our bottom line. Such as giving a talk to our dev teams introducing accessibility standards and why they matter. As lead designer I'm given the tools and resources I need to continually grow in my craft, and I share those learnings with my team.
At Mission Data we focus on building the best tools and experiences that solve the right problems for our clients. As their Senior UX designer I led projects and worked internally to ensure we were leveraging the latest design methodologies. I also established myself as a thought leader in the design space, partly by writing for our blog.
At Waystar, a SaaS company in the healthcare space, the majority of my time was spread across discovery, research, and design. I was also responsible for our user feedback forum- a monthly email where we provided users helpful content and conducted remote usability testing. I implemented an SUS method of standardized usability testing across our product line, as well as gained a lot of experience using behavioral metrics and google analytics to make intelligent design decisions.
At the time, Kindred didn’t have PMs or designers- they had analysts. My job was to meet with users, gather requirements, design the app, write the BRs and test plan, monitor devs, complete DEV testing, and support the app throughout go-live. I was responsible for the entire PDLC.
I interned in Kindred’s HR/Payroll IT Department where we designed all HR and Payroll systems. I had the opportunity to try out many roles, including: Instructional Designer, Project Manager, and QA Analyst.
